I am all about sneaking in extra vegetables and cutting back on calories, but I refuse to sacrifice on taste to do it. There has been a huge craze lately to find ways to make starchy side substitutes out of vegetables. Sometimes they are genius, and others I just don’t get. When attempting this switch try replacements that of course taste good, have similar texture, and are actually low-cal. But, if you end up using a ton of butter/cheese/bread crumbs and eat just as many calories, you may as well go for the gold. You’ll be left more satisfied if you eat whatever you were craving to begin with.
